1. Introduction

These General Terms and Conditions (hereinafter referred to as “GTC”) govern the use of the online service 24lekar.sk, which serves as an intermediary for consultations between the client (patient) and a qualified healthcare professional (doctor). By using this service, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

2. Service description

The purpose of the service is to provide professional medical advice and consultations online, without the need for a physical visit to a clinic. The healthcare is provided by a doctor who meets all legal requirements for practicing medicine and is authorized to perform medical practice. Consultations take place via video call, telephone call, or text communication within a secure online environment. During the consultation, the doctor may provide a professional opinion, issue an ePrescription, recommend further steps, issue necessary certificates, or suggest examinations, as permitted by the nature of the case.

The service is not intended for urgent or life-threatening situations. In such cases, the client must immediately contact emergency services at 112 or visit the nearest emergency department. Online consultation does not replace a physical examination in cases where it is medically necessary and should not be used as the sole basis for decisions in complex or acute cases.

The service is available to all individuals and legal entities, regardless of health insurance provider or permanent residence. Using the service does not require an existing insurance relationship with a health insurance company. The client acknowledges that the Operator is not a healthcare provider and has no contractual relationship with health insurance companies under Act No. 581/2004 Coll. Therefore, the client understands that there is no legal entitlement to reimbursement of the Operator’s services from public health insurance funds.

Communication between the client and the doctor takes place via a secure third-party online portal that meets the requirements for protecting personal and health data. This portal is independently operated and provides the technical infrastructure for consultations. By registering in the system, the client confirms that they have read and agree to the terms of use of this portal.

3. Ordering and Payment of Services

The client selects a doctor and a service package through the online form. After making a selection, the client is required to pay the service fee according to the current price list. Once the payment is received, the consultation appointment will be confirmed for the client. Prices include VAT.

4. Disclaimer

The operator is not responsible for the content or outcome of the medical consultation. Responsibility for healthcare rests with the provider (doctor) who delivers it in accordance with applicable regulations. The operator solely provides the technical and administrative support for the service.

5. Privacy Policy

Clients’ personal data are processed in accordance with applicable legal regulations, including the GDPR. Details are provided in the Privacy Policy document.

6. Cancellation and Rescheduling

The consultation appointment can be rescheduled free of charge no later than 12 hours before the planned session. If the client cancels less than 12 hours in advance, the payment is non-refundable. If the consultation is not carried out by the doctor, the client will be offered a new appointment or a refund.

7. Complaint Policy

The client has the right to file a complaint if the service was not provided in the agreed scope or quality. The complaint must be submitted in writing by email to info@24lekar.sk no later than 7 calendar days from the scheduled consultation date.

The complaint must include:

  • the client’s name,

  • the date and time of the scheduled consultation,

  • the name of the doctor,

  • a brief description of the reason for the complaint.

The operator will assess the validity of the complaint within 30 calendar days of its receipt and inform the client of the outcome. If the complaint is accepted, the client will be offered an alternative consultation date or a refund of the service fee.

Complaints will not be accepted if the client did not attend the consultation due to their own fault or if the consultation outcome did not meet their personal expectations without any error on the part of the doctor.

8. Final Provisions

The Operator reserves the right to modify these Terms and Conditions at any time. All changes take effect on the date of their publication on the website. Matters not governed by these Terms and Conditions shall be subject to the applicable laws of the Slovak Republic.
